If AI writes the blog post, give it the theme and your own experience first
I think many people have asked ChatGPT or Gemini to “write an article for our blog.” What comes back has the grammar and the structure in order, and is still an article that would hold even if it were not your own business. You read it and cannot think “this is about us.”
The cause is not the performance of the AI. It is that the information being passed is not enough. After you read this article, the next time you ask an AI, you will know what to tell it first so that the article becomes one about your own business.
It becomes a general article because the AI does not know “you”
If nothing is passed, the AI writes an average article from the world around it. A gym article becomes “tips for continuing” and “the basics of meals.” A hair salon becomes “seasonal hair worries.” None of those are wrong, but if you search the same theme, hundreds of articles with the same content come up.
The material that makes a difference is outside the AI. It is who you are selling to, and what you have seen on the ground. The AI cannot guess this, so it has to be passed from your side.
What you pass is 3 things. The theme, the reader, and your own experience
Before you ask for an article, write the following 3 down shortly.
- Theme: what you will write about. In one line, such as “anxiety before a trial lesson”
- Reader: who reads it. Picture one person, such as “in their 30s, hesitating to join, and it has been 5 years since they exercised”
- Your own experience and claim: what you saw on the ground, and a view that differs from others. Such as “we do not put them on a scale at the first visit. We build a way to continue before the number”
The third is the most important. If this is empty, it returns to a general article no matter how much the structure is tidied.
A way of asking that can be used as it is in free ChatGPT or Gemini is this.
Write a draft of a blog article under the following conditions.
Theme: anxiety before a trial lesson
Reader: in their 30s, hesitating to join. It has been 5 years since they exercised, and they are worried about whether they can keep up
My experience and claim: we do not measure weight at the first visit. We prioritize “they can come again” over the number,
and in practice many people come the week after the trial (check the number against the records on hand)
Output:
- 1 title option
- A body with headings (Markdown, around 1,500 characters)
- An X post that announces the article (within 140 characters, do not include the article URL)
- Separately, as a bullet list, the places in the body that need a fact check
Always include the last item, “places that need a fact check.” When it is asked, the AI will make a plausible number or a plausible result. An instruction that makes it declare the suspicious places itself works more reliably than an instruction that tells it not to write them.
A use in which you only consult on the title
When the theme is not settled before you write, it is faster to ask for title options, not for the body.
Give 5 title options for a blog article on the theme “anxiety before a trial lesson.”
For each one, add the reader it aims at, and what words that person would search with.
Look at the title options, choose one for which you can think “I can write this from my own experience,” and ask for the body for the first time there. In this order, you are less often made to write a general article on a theme you have no experience of.
Assembling this every time is, honestly, hard
I wrote “pass the 3 materials,” but in practice a description of the business is also needed every time. What you sell, who the customer is, and which blog it goes on. Pasting that into ChatGPT again every time is a bother, and if you forget to paste it, the quality of the article drops.
On top of that, once you also line up the fact-check items, the tags, the description that appears in search results, and the post for the announcement, one article comes to about 5 round trips of requests.
In Shoryaku AI, you only tell the chat “write it on the theme of 〇〇”
Shoryaku AI removes the work of pasting the business description every time. The business information and the products that are registered are passed to the AI automatically, each time you ask for an article.
On the chat screen, under “What would you like to consult about?”, there are 2 example questions for a blog.
- Consult on a blog title: Give 5 title options for a blog article on the theme of “〇〇.” Also add the reader it aims at, and the search intent
- Make a draft of a blog article: On the theme of “〇〇,” write a draft of a blog article that uses the strengths of the business and my own experience
When you rewrite “〇〇” into your own theme and send it, the following contents come back gathered into one reply.
- The title and the tags
- The body in Markdown
- An excerpt, and options for the title, the description, and the slug for search results
- An X post that announces the article, and hashtags
- Places that need checking. There is a rule not to write a result or a number that is not in the business information, and a place without support comes out in this list
If you say whether the destination is note, Zenn, Hatena Blog, WordPress, or your own blog, it matches that medium’s character count and the practice for tags. Post text for Instagram and the like can be asked for in the same chat.
It does not post automatically. You read the draft that came back, check the part that is your own experience, and then put it on your own blog.
The feature that “proposes topics” with no theme was stopped
An earlier Shoryaku AI had a screen that produced 5 article ideas with 1 button, without a theme being entered. It read the business site and past articles, and proposed angles that did not overlap.
What became clear by using it was that ideas the AI produced in a state where what to write had not been decided all became general articles. Even if it reads the business site, what is written there is a description of the product, not experience on the ground. 5 ideas come out, and every one of them is the content of “a blog in that industry would write it this way,” and nothing I felt I wanted to write came out.
The material for an article is outside the AI, in the head of the person who writes. If you only produce ideas without drawing that out, the starting point stays empty. So the dedicated screen was removed, and only the form in which a person who has brought a theme asks in the chat was left. The thinking about the context to pass to an AI, which sits behind this decision, is also written in An indie SaaS sale price cannot be known from the asking price alone.
Summary
- An AI article becomes a general article because the theme, the reader, and your own experience were not passed
- Pass the 3, and have it declare the places that need a fact check. Even a free AI changes the article with this
- When the theme is not decided, ask for title options first, not for the body
- Shoryaku AI passes the business information automatically, and if you only tell the chat “write it on the theme of 〇〇,” it returns the body, the SEO, the X post, and the places to check
- The topic-proposal feature with no theme was stopped. Ideas that came out without the experience of the person writing were all general articles
