LINE Ads migration: measurement, budgets, and reports
LINE Ads is scheduled to stop Japan-targeted delivery and creation/editing on October 26, 2026. Continue advertising by preparing migration to LINE Yahoo Display Ads. Official shutdown schedule
Copying settings with a migration tool does not complete measurement and historical-data handover. This guide covers preparation and checks before and after delivery begins.
Distinguish delivery shutdown from access closure
The interface will remain read-only for a period after shutdown, allowing report and payment-history review. The precise access-closure date will be announced later. Costs and settlements can update after delivery ends. Official notice
Assign someone to reconcile later costs as well as someone to switch delivery. Check account notices for current dates.
Identify source, destination, and owners
Existing data and settings do not migrate automatically. The official guide offers tool-based and manual routes. The tool requires connection to an authenticated Business Manager. Official migration guide

If an agency operates the account, include the website-tag owner and your business's outcome definitions. Avoid completing ad settings while website work remains unresolved.
Separate copied information from reconfiguration
The guide distinguishes transferable settings and assets from tags and conversion settings, historical reports and delivery results, bidding-learning data, and external API connections that do not transfer. Handover scope
Use this business worksheet, checking individual eligibility against current official materials.
| Purpose | Preserve before migration | Check afterward |
|---|---|---|
| Promote the same offer | Copy, assets, landing pages, and terms | Consistency and review status |
| Measure the same outcomes | Definitions, triggers, and measurement method | Received events and outcome settings |
| Manage spending | Budgets, bidding conditions, and billing owner | Combined source and destination spending |
| Compare with history | Period-level costs, outcomes, and change history | Measurement and delivery differences |
| Maintain external reporting | Connections, fields, and update frequency | New connection and retrieved data |
A successful copy and a completed operational handover are separate checks.
Rebuild measurement from outcome definitions
Do not assume the source LINE Tag measures destination Display Ads conversions unchanged. Review the new measurement tag and conversion setup; an existing destination account may already have a usable tag. Measurement conditions
Define the outcome first. Opening an inquiry page and completing submission are different events. Match actual behavior rather than copying labels from an old screen.
The measurement tag receives website events for conversion and other uses. Tag installation and the outcome configuration both matter. Official tag explanation
Trace the website action time, received event, and corresponding conversion setting. Inspect existing installation and other uses before adding tags. If measurement changes, do not treat before-and-after outcome counts as directly equivalent.
Check budgets and status before starting delivery
If both accounts deliver during transition, monitor combined spending. Define source shutdown conditions around working destination ads, measurement, and landing pages.
Check:
- Objectives, bidding, budgets, and delivery scope against the operating plan.
- Ad and asset review status, and actual delivery status.
- Landing pages and the intended purchase or inquiry process.
- Remaining measurement and external-reporting tasks.
Do not expect identical acquisition costs immediately on the assumption that learning data transferred. Set acceptable spending and review timing rather than allowing unlimited cost while waiting for stability.
Include the October 20 interface and export changes
LINE Yahoo plans partial Display Ads interface changes and removal of Shift_JIS CSV downloads on October 20, 2026. Shift_JIS imports remain supported for now, with later removal planned. Google Chrome will become the sole recommended browser. Official October 1 notice
The timing overlaps migration preparation. Separate interface changes from configuration handover. If you process downloaded reports elsewhere, test them through the actual spreadsheet or import process.
- Check that the operator's browser meets the recommendation.
- Test UTF-8 or another supported export with your existing processing.
- Verify Japanese labels, campaign names, costs, and counts.
- Update procedures that depend on old screens or encodings.
The planned date can change; check account notices after implementation too.
Preserve usable historical reports
Keep reporting periods, outcome definitions, costs, and campaign purposes with source reports. Preserve counts and costs together, not only acquisition rates.
Record changes in delivery scope, measurement, promotions, and landing pages during the post-migration review. Use the before-and-after review guide.
Give ChatGPT or Gemini the handover worksheet and task status, then ask: “Group unresolved items by delivery, measurement, billing, and records. Identify evidence needed to confirm completion.” Credentials are unnecessary.
Start by confirming both accounts and completing the worksheet with the measurement owner. Shoryaku AI chat can help discuss evaluation using your supplied aggregates and business context. It does not connect to LINE Yahoo Ads data or perform migration.
